Justice Rolando Vega Robert (Ret.) has served as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Costa Rica between 2002 and 2015. He was the President of the National System of Quality and Certification of the Judiciary of Costa Rica.
With a highly distinguished career in international organizations, Justice Vega Robert has served as Vice President of the Latin American Federation of Judges (1996-1997, and as the representative of Costa Rica before the Council for the Judiciary of Central America (1989-1990).
During his previous services in the public sector, he was the President of the Commission of Normalization of the Judicial Infrastructure (2003), worked a Superior Judge of the Labour Court of San José de Costa Rica (1991-1997) and served as a Member of the National Commission for the Improvement of the Administration of Justice (1997-1999).
He earned his Law degree at the University of Costa Rica, developed masters studies at the University of International Cooperation and doctoral studies at the Complutense University of Madrid.
As an academic, Justice Vega Robert serves since 1984 as professor of Labour Law and Procedural Law at the University of Costa Rica, and as a chair professor of Constitutional Law of the Masters in Business Law of the University of International Cooperation of Costa Rica. He has authored books and articles on the subjects of his expertise.
